Grief, Loss, Trauma & Addiction Therapy in New Jersey, New York & Florida
Welcome to Crossroads Counseling & Psychotherapy!
My name is Debbie, and I’m a trauma, addiction, and grief therapist working with clients in New Jersey, New York and Florida.
I have over 20 years of experience guiding clients through the challenging parts of life. Whether it’s the loss of a loved one, a difficult health diagnosis, an addiction, or moving forward after trauma, we can work together to find the way forward.
Grief Therapy
Loss and the grief that follows is something most of us are acquainted with. And many of us need extra support and guidance to get us through these tough times.
Whether you’re dealing with the death of a loved one, experiencing pregnancy loss, ending a marriage or other significant relationship, struggling with your identity after a major life transition, or grappling with scary medical news, grief counseling is a way to process what’s happened in a supportive environment.
As a grief therapist, I understand that healing comes with many twists and turns—it’s not a straight path forward. When we work together, I can help guide you through the challenges of navigating loss.
Trauma Therapy
Traumatic experiences come in all shapes and sizes—but no matter what they are, they tend to stick with us for a long time.
Sometimes, we’re highly aware of the repercussions of our trauma. We realize that we make certain choices or hold particular beliefs because of our past.
Other times, though, we just feel like we’re struggling… And we’re not sure why. We might feel anxiety or sadness a lot of the time. We might have difficulty connecting with others, experience mood swings or frequent irritability, or have more sleepless nights than we can easily explain.
Trauma therapy helps uncover and address the underlying reasons for our current feelings and behaviors. Together, we can identify your unique goals and figure out how you can begin overcoming the trauma-based barriers currently keeping you from reaching them.
Addiction Therapy
Addiction and mental health are very closely linked. In fact, it’s pretty difficult to address one without addressing the other.
And not only are addiction and mental health linked, they’re both incredibly powerful—they have that in common, too. So while it’s tempting to try and overcome the struggle on your own, addiction therapy can be the key to finding your path forward and through.
I’ll work with you in a compassionate, respectful space to find the confidence and empowerment you need to improve your level of functioning and develop the skills to live a life beyond the pressure of addiction.
I want you to thrive!
The goal isn’t for you to be in therapy every week or every month forever. Eventually, I want you to feel like you don’t even need me!
I want to help you get to a place where you’re thriving in life—where you have the tools you need to navigate the things that come your way.
I will work with you to explore your options and help you find the best path forward, developing and enhancing the coping skills that will allow you to reach your optimal level of daily functioning.
“Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life.”

Online Therapy in New Jersey, New York & Florida
I am currently offering online therapy to residents of New Jersey, New York and Florida.
Online therapy sessions allow me to work with clients for whom distance or travel might otherwise be a barrier to care.
I especially enjoy connecting with adolescents and adults around issues of grief, loss and trauma.
